TEA TREE OIL — AUSTRALIA’S HEALING PLANT REDISCOVERED

A member of the myrtle family, tea tree is largely native to Australia, where the aboriginal peoples held its leaves in high regard for both religious and medicinal purposes.

It’s the leaves that are the source of tea tree oil, which has remarkable antiseptic and antifungal properties, so remarkable, in fact, that, during World War II, it was issued to Allied soldiers worldwide. With today’s resurgent interest in botanical medicine and growing awareness of the problems associated with antibiotics and other pharmaceutical drugs, tea tree is making a dramatic comeback. 

Health Canada has granted its formal approval to St. Francis Herb Farm’s product, “Tea Tree Oil” (NPN 80027130). While there is much research yet to be done on the therapeutic benefits of this outstanding essential oil, for the present Health Canada has given its official endorsement to the following use:

• Helps to improve symptoms of fungal nail bed infections.
